IPL Photofacial
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) has been a staple in eye-care due to its uses for dry-eye management. When used for the skin, IPL can address concerns such as rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne, and much more. The device uses intermittent pulses of light to reach the areas in the skin where problems originate.
What to Expect
During your treatment, our technician will lean you back in the exam chair. Eye protection is necessary for both patients and treatment providers during this treatment. The technician will place a sticky ocular shield over both eyes to protect the health of your eyes. Next, the technician will apply a cool ultrasound gel to your face. They will then set the parameters of the machine to treat your specific concern. The setting we choose is not only based on your skin condition, but your skin color as well. We use the Fitzpatrick Scale to skin-type our patients before every treatment. The device will feel like a “rubber band pop” on the skin, or like a hot shocking sensation. The technician will leave the device on the skin after each pulse of light to allow for cooling.
Post-treatment, you may have some slight redness to the face, but this will quickly reside. We discourage prolonged sun exposure for the following week. We recommend using an SPF30 or SPF50 sunscreen for the face for the week following the treatment.
How Long Does It Take?
Our IPL Photofacials only take 15 minutes to perform. Visible result varies patient-to-patient and depends much on the condition that we are treating. During your consultation, we will customize your treatment regimen and plan for any maintenance treatments that may follow.
How Much Does It Cost?
The price for treatment will vary depending on the person, their age, and the condition of their skin. We recommend scheduling a consultation to find out what treatment regimen will best fit your needs.
$100 consultation – includes Visia Skin Scanner service
